As a folklore and tale enthusiast, I have enjoyed this post. It isn't simple to either locate or allocate a folk tale, as is indicated. Cross referencing is probably even harder!

Thanks for introducing me to the attempt at a typology of folk tales (2004!) and this specific one about the spirit in the blue light. I knew the “original fairy tales” were often very dark but this one is wild! Enjoyed your left of centre analogy with our devices👍
